This month, the group of agricultural technicians from Grupo Danec; They received the international visit of Engineer Edna Margarita Garzón, advisor in plant nutrition and expert in soils, fertilization, implementation of good agricultural practices, with extensive experience in research.

The objective was to evaluate the nutritional status of the plantations, review the action plans proposed in previous years to strengthen the measures to be developed and improve agronomic activities, focused on having optimal nutritional, physiological and soil fertility conditions.

In addition to productivity, the evolution of the root system, soil pH, nutritional deficiencies, plant nutrient reserves, brix degrees in roots and petiole were reviewed; giving as preliminary result:

• The implementation of good agricultural practices has increased the number of roots.
• The application of amendments has improved the pH of the impacted area.
• The implementation of management practices in the fertilization process the 4Rs: correct way, correct dose, correct application, correct time improve the assimilation of nutrients.

Ensuring adequate nutrition is essential to guarantee productivity and sustainability in our plantations. For this reason, the team of technicians will continue to work comprehensively with the rest of the areas in the execution of good practices that allow providing the cultivars with the appropriate conditions for correct assimilation of nutrients.
